Traveling Art Exhibit On Display In New North County Office
SAN DIEGO - July 2, 2007 Torrey Pines Bank has announced that, today, it has opened its seventh location in Carlsbad, CA. The new office is located at 2760 Gateway Road in Carlsbad and the facility extends the Bank's opportunity to serve the North County business and non-profit community with a broad array of banking and financial products and services.
John Harelson, the Bank's Regional Manager for the North County market, is also a North County resident. He participates in many civic organizations like the Boys and Girls Club and said of the new office "Torrey Pines Bank continues to partner with several non-profit organizations including the local chapter of the American Alzheimer's Association. We will unveil our new office with an exhibit of artwork created by individuals living with dementia through the Alzheimer's Association's Memories in the Making therapeutic art program." The exhibit will be on display through July 31.
Merle Brodie, President and CEO of the local Alzheimer's Association said that the traveling exhibit is "a powerful illustration that people suffering from the disease are still able to communicate their memories and emotions through art when they may have lost the ability to communicate verbally." Several North County Alzheimer's residential communities offer the weekly program to residents through the Alzheimer's Association.
"Creating community ties is an important element in our approach for entering new markets" said Gary Cady, President and CEO at Torrey Pines Bank. He adds "as we expand our services throughout San Diego County it's important that we continue to do what is right for our customers and do what is right for the communities in which we're doing business."
Brodie affirmed that "Torrey Pines Bank is an important partner to us in the North County, home to one-third of our county's residents." Our outreach strategy in North County is to better connect with local companies and organizations, and Torrey Pines Bank is able to help us attain that goal by building a bridge between the business community and non-profit world."
The media are invited to contact Crystal Watkins at 858-523-4640 to schedule a time to tour the exhibit and or discuss the exhibit with representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association and Torrey Pines Bank.
