TORREY PINES BANK WINS BRONZE ADDY AWARDS
Fast-growing local bank honored in the San Diego Ad Club competition for two of its print ads.
SAN DIEGO, CA — April 3, 2007 — Torrey Pines Bank, one of the fastest-growing San Diego County banks serving small- and medium-sized San Diego businesses, received Bronze ADDY awards for two of its ads at the San Diego Ad Club’s 2007 ADDY’s Creative Show on Friday, March 23, 2007. Both ads were focused on addressing the needs of specific niches — women in business and the legal community — and were part of an ad series communicating how Torrey Pines Bank uniquely tailors its services and products to meet the specific needs of business customers. Both ads were created by McGuffin Creative Group, an agency in Chicago headed by Chris Sculles. The bank was the only financial institution to win an award in this year’s competition.
The first ad, aimed at women in business and entitled, “We’d Like To Shorten Your To-Do List,” highlights how Torrey Pines Bank Concierge service saves customers considerable time in their day by sending a concierge to provide services to customers at their offices. For women juggling work and parenting, this is a particularly welcome convenience. The second ad, aimed at the legal community and entitled, “A Compelling Argument,” makes the case for using a bank that provides services tailored to attorneys, has two branches downtown where many attorneys have their offices, and further serves attorneys with an office courier service.
”We are greatly appreciative of receiving these honors, which are further validation of the brand strategy we’ve pursued since opening four years ago,” said Crystal Watkins, Vice President, Director of Marketing and Head of Community Reinvestment for Torrey Pines Bank. “We created this ad series, part of our successful ‘Unique. Adaptive. Thriving.’ brand campaign, to communicate our position as a bank focused on helping business customers thrive by understanding and serving their unique needs.”
The San Diego Advertising club presented 106 ADDY awards for excellence in advertising and graphic design to 32 advertising and marketing companies at the annual event held this year at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park. The ADDY’s, conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation, are the advertising industry’s largest competition, attracting over 56,000 entries in local ADDY competitions every year. Winning local entries go on to compete in district competition, with the finalists competing nationally. The San Diego Ad Club has represented the local advertising industry since 1911, and is a part of the national American Advertising Federation.
