Chief Executive Officer

 

Gary Cady is CEO of Torrey Pines Bank and is responsible for the overall strategic direction and safety & soundness of the bank. Gary spends much of his time advising clients on business strategies in addition to coaching the bank's leadership team and young professionals.

 

Gary is a long-time San Diego resident who has built a distinguished 30-year career in banking. He spent much of his career with prominent and successful financial institutions, where he held senior management positions across various disciplines.

 

Mr. Cady holds an MBA in Financial Management and a BS degree in Finance. He is active in the community, serving a variety of local organizations including the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Symphony and Continuous Quality Insurance Corporation. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Sharp Memorial Hospital.

 

Gary is frequently quoted in California business publications and banking periodicals and often asked to be the keynote speaker for business and trade events. In his spare time Gary is an avid supporter of youth sports, serving as a coach and board member on several local Little League baseball teams and basketball leagues.

President and Chief Operating Officer

 

John Maguire is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Torrey Pines Bank. As one of the founding Officers of Torrey Pines Bank he was asked to join Robert Sarver and Gary Cady in organizing the Bank in 2003. He served as manager of the La Mesa Office until his promotion to Executive Vice President in 2007, and was further asked to accept the position of President and COO in March, 2009.

 

John has been actively involved with the YMCA for over 25 years and currently serves on the corporate board of the YMCA of San Diego County. John earned a Bachelor's degree from University of San Diego, in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School, in Seattle, Washington.

Chief Credit Officer

 

John P. Massab is the Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Torrey Pines Bank. Mr. Massab has been managing commercial credits for most of his professional career and draws from 25 years in the industry. John is responsible for advising the Bank's Executive Management team on its asset and credit portfolio. John's primary objective is to oversee the Bank's credit culture and bring sophisticated credit measurement and control systems to an expanding banking franchise. As such, John chairs the Bank's Management Loan Committee and serves on the Bank's asset liability committee. Additionally, John evaluates the Bank's credit delivery system and provides workflow enhancements that help improve client satisfaction.

 

Mr. Massab received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Management from Albion College. Located in Albion, Michigan, the school is known for the prestigious President Gerald R. Ford Institute for Public Policy and Service. He also holds a Graduate degree from Pacific Coast Banking School, University of Washington, Seattle, WA in 2002.

 

John commits his time as a Board Member of the Downtown YMCA, helping the organization expand programming and reach. He is active in the Rancho Bernardo community, having served youth baseball programs for 15 years.

Chief Real Estate Officer

 

William A. McLennan joined Torrey Pines Bank in 2003 and is the Chief Real Estate Officer of the Real Estate department. Mr. McLennan is responsible for loan production of the real estate division including client advisory services, and project underwriting. With 25 years of Real Estate banking and lending experience in both interim and term financing areas across the Western United States, Mr. McLennan brings skills to Torrey Pines Bank that are unmatched in the region. His specialties include advising his team on structuring residential real estate, commercial, office and industrial projects. He brings a wealth of experience having provided financing for a broad spectrum of projects, in term of size and dollars.

 

Mr. McLennan earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego and is actively involved with industry related service organizations.

Regional President for Los Angeles and Orange County

 

Paul L. Donaldson is the Executive Vice President and Regional President for Torrey Pines Bank. Over the past 25 years, Mr. Donaldson has lent his extensive bank management, commercial lending and community banking experience to the local business community. Throughout his career, Mr. Donaldson has held senior management positions with major financial institutions and has played an integral role working with locally based businesses throughout the diverse Southern California marketplace.

 

Mr. Donaldson studied at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah (known for producing outstanding professionals with the highest standards of integrity) and received his MBA before launching into a career in banking. Mr. Donaldson is a member of the Southern California Leadership Network, a productive network of exemplary and diverse leaders in the business, government and community sectors who are capable of addressing the critical challenges facing the Southern California region.

Regional President for San Francisco Bay Area Market

 

Fred Voss is Executive Vice President and regional president of the San Francisco Bay Area market. He has been tasked with growing the bank's market share in the Bay Area and leading area teams in meeting the commercial banking needs of growth-oriented business owners and professionals by providing exceptional advisory and customer service.

 

Mr. Voss draws on 25 years in the banking industry and was most recently Senior Vice President/Team Leader Commercial Lending at a private bank and wealth management company with offices in Northern and Southern California. His background includes senior level positions in business banking, commercial real estate, and relationship development, having worked with large, nationally known institutions as well as community banks. He is a long-time local resident, spending much of his 25 years in San Francisco and Peninsula communities. Fred works out of the Bank's Oakland location, oversees its Los Altos office as well as working to establish the bank's presence in San Jose.
